"This year the SAMEDA FAIRE is sponsoring
workshops by two of California's most notable dancers....This month
we are featuring "Fahtiem" who will also be teaching a workshop.
Anyone who has taken a class from Fahtiem
knows the "magic" she imparts. She is truly a master dancer and teacher.
She brings elegance and energy to this age old tradition making it
an art form. Her classes are fun, energizing and leave you wanting
more. I have taken classes from Fahtiem and each time I learn more
nuances and come away with a renewed "spark."
Fahtiem teaches to advanced and beginning
students, giving each one something special. She teaches basic movements
layering into advanced techniques. She encourages each dancer to always
do their personal best.
She always communicates the importance of
practicing as though you were on stage and devoting yourself one hundred
percent to the dance. She motivates you to achieve a higher goal for
yourself.
She teaches in a manner that is appealing
to all levels of dancers leaving no one untouched. Fahtiem believes
that with focused positive energy even the simplest move can be engaging.
It is not so much the level of difficulty of the movement as it is
how you present it. There is purity in the way Fahtiem moves. Her
actions are expressive and there are sublet nuances within her dance
that give it a magical quality. She is able to draw you in with her
motions and keep you enthralled with her personality. She brings sensuousness
and liveliness to the dance. There is a gleam in her eye when she
flirts with the audience that leaves them crying for more. With a
simple lift of her eyebrow she exudes warmth and humor.
Taking a workshop with Fahtiem will touch
you forever. Her technique and love of the dance will inspire you
to dance with your heart and soul."
